UK Toy Fair: More Galleries
Reported by James on 23 Jan 2013 05:30

It's time for our second set of galleries from the UK Toy Fair which started yesterday at Olympia in London. There’ll be more galleries over the next day or two.

Our friends at Gear4Games had lots of new products on show including some Angry Bird Star Wars items which include jigsaws, mugs and bobble heads.

In their popular plush line with sound effects expect to see Boba Fett, C-3PO, Wicket the Ewok and Figrin Da’n.  There’s other new plush items coming to the 6” line including Chewbacca, Yoda and Darth Vader.  In the larger line expect to see everybody’s favourite gangster, Jabba the Hutt.  View gallery here (not all products listed are shown as some are pending approval).

Unfortunately the only thing we can show you from Hasbro is the 12” Rise of Darth Vader figure which won an Action Figure Award at the show.  This year, unlike previous years, the Hasbro stand is just showing the best of the best products and consequently the full range of Star Wars products was not on show – there wasn’t any 3.75” Star Wars figures on display at all.

We’ve been told by the global Star Wars team at Hasbro that everything will be revealed in New York including the 3.75” action figure line .  What we can say is that they’ll be more roleplaying items later this year, lots more Angry Bird Star Wars product coming and lots will be revealed in New York (not too long to wait). View gallery here.

Hornby entered the world of Star Wars with a couple of Scalextric sets in 2012 and the they proved very popular. They’ll continue this range in 2013 and will also add a new set called Battle of Hoth.  View gallery here.

Kids At Play were on hand to show us their amazing ride in R2-D2 which has to be seen to be believed.  It's available to buy now - just wish it fitted adults too!  View gallery here.

We spent quite a while on the LEGO stand since they have so many different products to see other than LEGO Star Wars.  As with Hasbro and like previous years we’ve been asked not to talk about the LEGO Star Wars sets coming in the second half of 2013.  We can tell you they look fantastic and we look forward to bringing you images and more information from New York.  Information relating to the 2013 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar has already been leaked and published on-line by others so we’ll share a little information with you. This popular item will be returning for 2013 and features nine minifigures (same number as the 2012 set) – including Jango Fett as Santa to tie in with the 3D release of Episode II: Attack of the Clones later this year.  View gallery here (featuring some blank uninspiring walls and a couple or large Chima figures - we promise the sets on display were amazing though!).

More to come soon...
